What it is

The next step for the most capable JEP graduates

The MTP Advanced Academy is planned as the next step for the most capable JEP graduates, chosen on merit regardless of means.

Merit aid is planned to cover 97% of fees, funded by an endowment, so that a learner's ability, not their family's income, decides who takes part.

MTP Academy will sit on 5 acres together with MTP Secondary School.

Campus concept

The proposed campus concept

The planned campus as the Founder has set it out. The image at the top of this page shows the MTP Academy side of the campus.

What the concept shows

  • AI and innovation studios
  • Research laboratories, with solar panels on the roof
  • Collaborative learning spaces
  • Prototyping workshops
  • Administration buildings and the main entrance, shared with MTP Secondary School

MTP Secondary School and MTP Academy share one campus, with the administration buildings and the main entrance between them. The MTP Secondary School side or see the whole campus.

Design approach

The campus is intended to be climate-responsive and practical to build and maintain locally: local materials, shaded walkways, trees and landscaping for shade, solar power and rainwater harvesting.

The image is a proposed campus concept, not an existing building and not a final design. No capacities are set by it. Any real design depends on a site survey, funding and the decision gates in SXLA's plans.

JEP Advanced

Incubation from an idea to a market-ready product, with mentors.

A market-ready launch space

A place to present and launch products.

Co-working

Shared space for young founders to work alongside each other.

Events and presentations

Including pitch days and demo days.

How it will be built

Two phases in the plan

The Academy follows MTP Secondary School in SXLA's plans and is built in two phases.

  1. 2031 to 2033

    Technology phase

    A fabrication lab, local AI servers and Block B, an advanced workspace.

  2. From 2034

    Launch phase

    Further buildings, Block C, and Block D residences for mentors and founders, and the endowment. Opening planned for 2034.
