About us

Safeguarding

Keeping learners safe, in school and online.

Our commitment

A safe place to learn, try and try again

SXLA has a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy. It applies to everyone who works with or visits our learners, including staff, volunteers, partners and funders.

Learners online

  • We do not publish full names or other identifying details of learners online.
  • We use photographs only with written consent and the learner's assent.
  • The policy covers everyone who works with or visits our learners, in school and online.
  • This website has no form for learners and collects no information from them. Learners share ideas through their teachers. How learners share an idea
  • In the Studio specification, learners' personal data stays on the school's own server and never goes into public AI tools. Data protection and Privacy notice

Reporting a concern

If you have a safeguarding concern, write to brainy@spectrumtechlabsalliance.org with "Safeguarding" in the subject line. You can also reach us on WhatsApp. Concerns are handled under SXLA's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

If a child is at risk, you can also call the Uganda Child Helpline, Sauti 116, free of charge. Learners can always tell a teacher they trust.
